Best Friends for Life

This drawing is of me as a small child and my grandparents' dog, Schultz.
Schultz holds a very special place in my heart. Even from day one, the two of us were inseperable. We ignored everyone, humans and dogs alike. We played from early morning to deep into the night. When my imagination stirred, he never missed a beat. He played all sorts of roles, from superdog to the wolf cub I found in the woods. A neighbor across the street to my guardian angel. Even now, he and I are stuck like glue. As he and I both grow older, we adapt to new lifestyles. When I visit in the summer, he and I enjoy sleeping long into the afternoon. We watch television together and take walks on the 40 acres he calls home. He really is something special. Schultz, thank you. Thank you for always being there. Even though I know you cant read this, I'm still thinking about you. I hope to see you again very, very soon.
